The Pygmalion Restaurant receives it’s name after George Bernard Shaw’s most popular play, named after a Greek mythological character.
The play was later adapted for the more commonly known “My Fair Lady” musical.
The room itself is decorated in an elegant Victorian style, with high ceilings, large impressive gilt edge paintings and luxurious chandeliers.
The beautiful bay windows provide the diner with a majestic view over the Kenmare Bay and Caha mountains.
Our executive chef Peter Farndon ensures that the dining experience matches the splendour of the room.
Begin your day in the Pygmalion restaurant with our delicious Irish breakfast. We offer a wide selection of hot Irish favourites like warm porridge and a traditional fry to continental style items including cold meats and cheeses, fruit and freshly baked pastries.
The dinner menu boasts imaginative cuisine highlighting the best modern Irish cuisine with international inspirations, accompanied by the finest selection of wines. Daily Specials afford the diner with added options and choice, ensuring that the dining experience at Parknasilla is never the same
“I am fortunate enough to work in a region that is spoilt for choice when it comes to sourcing first class food produce. I am also fortunate to lead a team of great chefs who share my passion to prepare, cook and serve great food consistently. It is not all about fine dining at Parknasilla, we need to cook a good Irish breakfast, prepare a perfect ham sandwich and toss a simple salad to perfection and execute a dinner menu that is both innovative and wholesome, so that our guests who dine with us on one or seven night relish each experience equally.”
John, our restaurant manager, is an exceptional host. His special attention to the needs of our customers is truly unique. His is a wealth of local knowledge and is more than willing to spend time discussing local folklore and legends.
“My team and I are proud to serve you. We pride ourselves on a friendly and engaging service yet commanding a professional edge. We appreciate the art that is good service and are committed to upholding the Parknasilla high standard.
John, restaurant manager
