Restaurant Manager

Parknasilla Resort and Spa voted Hotel of the Year at the 2017 Irish Hospitality Awards are seeking to recruit for the position of Restaurant Manager for their Pygmalion Restaurant  for the upcoming season.
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in managing a 4* hotel restaurant and be able to oversee a large team of food and beverage assistants in order to maintain the high standards and customer service associated with this iconic hotel in south kerry.

The ideal candidate should possess :

- a minimum of two years restaurant management experience in a 4* resort
- excellent customer service skills
- hands on management style
- previous exposure to and understanding of costs , payroll , training and development
- possess leadership qualities in order to manage different personalities within the 
   department effectively
- attention to detail and standards orientated
- excellent knowledge of wine
- a passion for good food presented efficiently and professionally .
- previous exposure to micros point of sale and opera front office  system would be
   advantageous.
- have the ability to take ownership of the department ensuring staff are motivated , well-  
   trained and committed to offering a superior guest experience at all times.

Duty Manager

A vacancy has arisen for a Duty Manager to join the existing management team at Parknasilla Resort &
Spa in Sneem, Co. Kerry.

The role will include the following duties:
- All aspects of running a hotel on a daily basis including customer service, bar, restaurant, housekeeping,
stock/orders, rosters
- Health and safety incorporating Fire drills, fire walks and making sure all administration is up to date
- Guest relations and customer service
- Cash handling and daily banking
- Department staffing and daily service
- Training and any other relevant duties that will ensure the smooth running of the Hotel.
The successful candidate must possess relevant experience in hotel duty management and must be fluent
in English. This is a seasonal position.
Requirements: Knowledge of Opera Front Office System, Micros Food & Beverage Systems, Word,
Excel and I.T an advantage. Knowledge of 4* standards across the resort.
Salary consummerate with relevant experience. Discounted Staff Accommodation rates and Meals while
on duty will be included in the role.

Bar Personnel

Parknasilla Resort & Spa are seeking application for Bar staff to work in one of Irelands top locations.

Duties associated with this role include;
- Serving of food & beverages, taking orders and clearing tables.
- Stock rotation
- Cash handling and daily banking
- Preparation of cocktails
- Working with the food servers in administering beverage orders and making sure the correct billing
procedures are followed
- Bar cleanliness and hygiene
Substantial Investment is currently being undertaken with the addition of a new bar in the Hotel and this
is a perfect opportunity for an experienced bar person to join the team in this busy food and beverage
outlet.
Prerequisites for this role are
- Minimum of one years’ experience in a busy bar operation
- Excellent presentation and people skills
- Team player
- Experience in preparing cocktails a must when applying for this role
- Experience in taking food orders and food service essential when applying
- Experience in micros food and beverage point of sale would be desirable.
A Minimum of one years’ experience in busy Hotel bar is essential when applying. Good Knowledge of
food & drink a benefit but full training will be given. Good Knowledge of English is required.
Week -end work will be involved. Live-in also available with staff meals while on duty also included in
the package being offered.

Chef De Partie

Chef de Partie required for our Pygmalion fine dining restaurant with a high standard of food.

Junior Sous Chef

The Resort is currently looking to recruit a Junior Sous Chef to support the Executive Head Chef in the day to day operations of the kitchen brigade . The Hotel are looking to recruit suitable candidates who will have responsibilities for the larder , meat and sauce section in this very successful brigade

The successful candidate should have a proven track record of offering consistent levels of food quality
and service at a very high standard.
The ideal candidate will possess the following experience :

· Previous Senior Chef De Partie experience in a 4* Hotel/Resort with emphasis on a la carte
restaurant dining experience
· Bar -Food and Banqueting is essential when applying for this role
· Attention to detail in food presentation.
· The ability to be creative and pro-active in developing new ideas for the food operation within the
resort
· Flexibility and adaptability in helping out within the department when required is a must .
· Be able to work under pressure whilst achieving consistent food standards.
· A minimum of 2/3 years experience working in a busy 4* Hotel environment as senior chef de
partie is desirable when applying for this role.

Food and Beverage Assistants

Parknasilla Resort & Spa is seeking Waiting & Floor staff to work in one of Irelands top locations.

Duties included in the role are
- Competent service of food & beverage orders
- taking orders and clearing tables in both The Pygmalion Restaurant and the casual dining outlets of the bar,
lounges and terrace.
- Correct use of the micros point of sale system
- Excellent customer service skills
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Want to be part of an excellent food and beverage team
- Excellent presentation skills
- Participate in staff training sessions and upskilling
- Be able to adapt to work in both the Hotel Bar and Restaurant
A minimum of one years previous experience is essential. Good Knowledge of food & beverage important but full
training will be given. Fluent English is essential as well as a customer focused attitude.
The role will include working weekends and morning and evening shifts
